- Entebbe UPPC 0-1 KCCA FC
Sammy Ssebadduka struck late to hand KCCA FC a hard fought 1-0 win over Entebbe UPPC, keeping the title chase alive.
Under the Entebbe sun at the Fisheries Training Ground on Tuesday, KCCA controlled much of the game but struggled to find a breakthrough.
Their best early chance fell to captain Garvin Kizito Mugweri in the 18th minute, but goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa tipped his header over the bar.
KCCA kept pushing. Saidi Mayanja saw his effort blocked, and Brian Jjara fired off target from close range as the visitors searched for a goal.
Entebbe had their moments too. Abraham Kakensa Tusubira forced a save from Mutwalibu Mugolofa late in the first half, but neither side found the net before the break.
After halftime, KCCA stayed on the front foot. Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s long-range free kick sailed over, while Ambrose Kigozi wasted a good chance at the other end.
Substitute Julius Poloto later delivered a dangerous cross, and Kigozi’s header was comfortably handled by Mugolofa as the hosts grew into the game.
The breakthrough came in the 72nd minute. Mugweri sent a long ball forward, and Ssebadduka reacted quickest after a moment of hesitation from Omedwa.
He lifted the ball over the goalkeeper and calmly headed into an empty net to seal the win.
Entebbe pushed late on, but KCCA’s defence held firm to secure all three points.
The result keeps KCCA second on 51 points, four behind leaders Vipers SC, who beat Buhimba United Saints 2-0.
Elsewhere, Police edged URA 2-1, while UPDF claimed their first win of 2026 with a 5-2 victory over BUL.
KCCA next travel to face Calvary on Saturday, April 25, while Entebbe UPPC visit Vipers the following day.
Elsewhere, Vipers SC kept top spot with a 2-0 win over Buhimba United Saints in Butema, Police FC edged URA FC 2-1 in Kiira, and UPDF FC finally picked up their first victory of 2026 in emphatic style, thrashing BUL FC 5-2 away from home.
Later Express FC will host NEC FC at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo at 8 pm.
