- Buhimba United Saints 0-2 Vipers SC
Vipers SC kept their four point lead at the top of the Uganda Premier League with a calm 2-0 win over Buhimba United, bouncing back after two straight draws.
Playing at Royals Park in Butema on Tuesday, the Venoms struck early and never looked troubled.
Their opener came in the 12th minute when Hillary Mukundane’s header deflected off Derrick Ochen and rolled into the net, catching the Buhimba defence slow to react.
Vipers stayed on the front foot, with Yunus Sentamu causing problems. He beat his markers to set up Karim Watambala, but the shot was blocked.
Just before the break, Sentamu went close again, only to be denied by a good save.
The visitors remained in control after halftime and doubled their lead 12 minutes into the second half.
Watambala stepped up and calmly converted from the penalty spot to put the result beyond doubt.
The win takes Vipers to 55 points, keeping them four clear at the top. Buhimba United remain 15th with 15 points from 24 matches.
Next, Vipers host Entebbe UPPC at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday, April 26, while Buhimba United visit SC Villa a day earlier.
Later Express FC will host NEC FC at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo at 8 pm.
