Now-former UPDF FC right-back James Begisa has been unveiled at URA FC on a two year contract.

The 19 year old comes in as their second signing after George Senkaaba, who was signed following the expiry of his contract at Express FC.

“I chose URA because I believe it’s the Club that has the playing style that I can fit in,” said Begisa to the club media.

“I am also happy to join the club because it has senior players who I know will help push me to learn more and improve my game,” added the soft-spoken defender.

“Every player would wish to play for such a club as URA because it has won trophies and is one of the top clubs in the country.”

Begisa is also keen on adding his abilities and contribute towards helping the club achieve the glory that has evaded them in the recent past.

“I feel like they have been a bit unlucky over the past two to three years not to win the trophy but they always come out strong every season. Hopefully, we can win trophies next season together.”

The youngster, who was part of Uganda U-20 AFCON finals in 2021 (Mauritania) where they lost to Ghana 2-0, joins the Tax Collectors as a direct replacement for Ashraf Mandela, who joined Vipers SC.
