Vipers SC unveiled striker, Rodrigue Shamamba from Democratic Republic of Congo side, Goal Academy for their final transfer business.

The young prospect has joined the Venoms on a long-term four-year contract.

Despite being just a teenager with little or no experience, Shamamba has a strong character and has vowed to fight with the existing talent at Kitende.

“I want to help the club and myself win trophies through putting in hard work and competing against all the quality players here,” the ambitious Shambamba was quoted via the club’s website.

“I’m an attacker and i will work hard to use my qualities to help the team go forward,” an optimistic Shamamba added.

He is expected to compete for a place in the starting eleven with Cromwel Rwothomio, Abubakar Lawal, Yunus Sentamu and Ibrahim Orit among others.

He became the tenth and final Venom signing in the just concluded transfer window, after Alfred Macumu Mudekereza, Olivier Osomba, Isa Mubiru and Ashraf Mandela.

Others include Murushid Juuko, Marvin Joseph Youngman, Abdu Lumala, Lawal and Rwothomio who got acquired from URA FC.

Vipers has already made the First Round of the CAF Champions League after eliminating Olympic Real De Bangui in the Preliminary Round, with a 4-0 aggregate win.

In the Uganda Premier League, they curtain-raise the 2022/23 campaign with a bout against Soltilo Bright Stars on September 30, at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
