Uganda Cranes right-back Nicholas Wadada has left Tanzanian giants Azam FC, ending spell of four seasons.

The development was confirmed by the club on Friday, paying homage to the former Vipers SC captain, commending him for his services.

“We have reached an agreement to part with our former right-back Nickolas Wadada, who has officially ended his contract. Thank you for your contribution, and all the best wherever you go!” read the statement on their official Twitter account in Kiswahili.

The two parties decided against a contract renewal, with reports indicating Wadada is headed to another Tanzanian side, Ihefu FC.

His prospective new side, Ihefu only recently won promotion back to the topflight in May after winning the second-tier championship.

They had been relegated from the topflight in the 2020/21 season but managed an instant return.
