Wasswa Bbosa has called for a big response from Kitara as they prepare for a decisive Uganda Premier League duel against SC Villa at Royal Park, Butema.
The Kitara assistant coach knows what is at stake.
Both sides sit on 51 points, chasing leaders Vipers, who dropped points against KCCA earlier in the week.
A win on Thursday would cut the gap at the top and keep title hopes alive.
“It’s a tough game against a very good side, but we are at home and need to use that,” Bbosa said.
“We lost to them away and we are tied on points, so this is our chance to create a gap.”
With only a few matches left, the pressure is clear. Victory would move either side within five points of Vipers, while defeat could end their title push.
Kitara head into the game with confidence after a 2-1 win over Lugazi last weekend. They have also been strong at home all season, turning Royal Park into a difficult place for visitors.
SC Villa, however, arrive in good form. The Jogoos are unbeaten in their last five matches and edged the reverse fixture 1-0, with Ssebuufu scoring the winner.
The head to head record is close. In seven meetings, Kitara have three wins, Villa have two, and two games have ended in draws.
Bbosa believes his team has learned from the earlier loss and is ready this time.
“This game is crucial. We want to win and close the gap at the top,” he said. “We are ready and expect a positive result.”
Kitara have no injury concerns, giving Bbosa a full squad to choose from.
Forward Shaban Muhammad, who scored in the win over Lugazi, will be one to watch.
