After leaving Asubo Gafford Ladies FC last month, experienced defender Fatumah Nakasumba is set to join Wakiso Hills WFC.
Nakasumba, who was a key player in Asubo Gafford Ladies FC’s survival in the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League season, is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Wakiso Hills WFC.
The lanky defender has a wealth of experience, having won the FUFA Women’s Cup and FUFA Women Elite League titles with She Makerere in 2019 and 2022 respectively.
She also won the first-ever FUFA Women’s Super League title with Lady Doves in 2020/21.
In 2023, Nakasumba won the FUFA Women’s Beach Soccer League title with Asubo Gafford Ladies FC and was also named the most valuable player (MVP) in the competition.
Wakiso Hills WFC has already completed the signing of left back Phoebe Banura from She Corporate FC, and the addition of Nakasumba would be a major coup for the club.
Nakasumba is a versatile defender who can play as both centre-back and left-back. She is also an excellent passer and dribbler.
In addition to her experience and versatility, Nakasumba is also a strong leader. She is known for her positive attitude and her ability to motivate her teammates.
This leadership will be essential for Wakiso Hills WFC, as they look to challenge for the title in the upcoming season.
