After winning the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League, Kampala Queens have started to strengthen their squad ahead of forthcoming CAF champions league Cecafa Zonal qualifiers.
The Queens of soccer are targeting to sign Crested Cranes and Olila HS WFC defender Bira Nadunga.
Last summer, Kampala Queens attempted to sign the calm defender but the player renewed her contract at Olila.
Bira Nadunga is rated as one of the best central defenders in the league due to her intelligence and calmness in the defense.
Recently the player met Kampala Queens FC CEO Meddy Ssengendo at FUFA house to negotiate personal terms.
It’s believed that defense is one of Kampala Queens’ weaker departments and they’re looking forward to strengthen it.
The defender is interested in joining the reigning champions however her bosses are not ready to release her.
Nadunga sustained a knee injury in a game against UCU Lady Cardinals in the first round of the recently concluded FUFA Women Super League and has been sidelined since.
If the deal materialises, some Kampala Queens FC defenders will have to be released.
