KCCA FC have become the latest club to secure the services of a Congolese national, after they unveiled forward, Simon Tshisungu Kankonde on Friday.

This was after Vipers SC signed two from the same country in Alfred Macumu Mudekereza and Olivier Omadjondo Osomba in the ongoing transfer window.

Moments after penning down his two year contract at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, Kankonde was quick to express his readiness to add value to the 13 time league winner’s rich history.

“I have read so much about the history of this club and I have tasked myself to add value and history to this great club,” he said in an interview with the club media.

“I am certain the club and the technical team will push me to my ultimate best and that is exactly what I want to acheive.”

The gigantic striker becomes the Kasasiro Boys’ fifth signing in the current transfer window after Moses Waiswa, and teenagers Faisal Wabyoona, Saidi Mayanja, and Allan Enyou respectively.

The 23 year old has been training with his new employers in the ongoing pre-season and shouldn’t take long to integrate.

“I know some players in the squad like John Revita who previously played in the Democratic Republic of Congo and I am sure I will settle in well. The Coach has already shared with me his expectations and I am looking forward to playing with my new mates.”

Kankonde previously played for AS Dauphin Noir de Goma, before featuring for Etoile Jaune de Bukavu, Union Sportive Tshinkunku de Kananga and Academie Club de Kananga, all from his native country.

He is a former golden boot winner at Union Sportive Tshinkunku de Kananga in 2018.

He has also previously won the best player and top scorer awards at Academie Club de Kananga in 2017 and 2015 respectively.
