Sport-S Volleyball Club now stand one match from either a breakthrough or an early exit as they face hosts REG in the Round of 16 at the CAVB Men’s Club Championship in Kigali.
After finishing third in Pool B, the Ugandan side must overcome a REG team led by their former coach, Benon Mugisha.

That reunion adds extra intrigue to a match where the stakes are already clear win and advance, lose and go home.
The tournament has built up to this point with tight contests and shifting fortunes. Now, the knockout phase leaves no room for recovery. Every point matters, and composure will be as important as skill.
Sport-S have shown resilience to get this far, but REG will have the backing of the home crowd and a coach who understands Ugandan volleyball well. It is a test of both execution and mentality.

Uganda’s other representatives, Nemostars Volleyball Club, topped Pool A and will face Kenya’s KPA in an earlier Round of 16 match.
Elsewhere, hosts APR, who dropped to third in Pool A after losing to Egypt’s Petrojet, take on Morocco’s FUS Rabat.
Petrojet meet Ghana Army, while Rwanda’s Police face Nigeria Customs.
Cameroon’s PAD play Kenya’s Equity Bank, Kepler face Kenya’s GSU, and record champions Al Ahly take on Ghana’s Kalibi.
