Wakiso Giants FC head coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda has expressed huge delight at their freshest acquisition, Bashir Ssekagya.

The goalkeeper, penned down a two-year contract with the Purple Sharks with the option for a further year, and Ayala believes he’s one of the pieces of the puzzle that have missed for some time.

“He comes with a bit more experience and we believe he will be of value to the squad,” the tactician told the club media.

“His talent and potential are undoubted and we are glad he has chosen us.”

The 24-year-old is not new to Ugandan football given that he has spent the largest part of his career in the Uganda Premier League.

He broke out in the 2017/18 campaign at UPDF FC before he was signed by Vipers SC in the 2018/19 season.

He was then loaned out to Proline FC and by the time he joined Wakiso Giants, he was a free agent after his contract at Kenyan side Wazito expired.

He is expected to vie for a starting place with custodian Derrick Emukule.
