Denis Kisiriko scored as St Mary’s Kitende thumped Numasa SS 6-0 to join Bukedea Comprehensive, Kyadondo SS, and Amus College in this year’s USSSA U20 Boys Football National Championship semifinals.

Jordan Tugume, Cloud Wakenge, and Isaac Ssekate all joined Kisiriko on the score sheet with a goal each in the quarterfinal game that was shifted to Dr. Obote College due to heavy downpours that delayed the third quarterfinal at Lira Town College.

The big win for Kitende called up a semifinal clash against Amus College who eliminated London College Nansana by a Goal to nil.

In the delayed game, before being shifted to Dr. Obote College, Bukedea Comprehensive School eliminated Masaka SS on penalties 4-1, deciding that game after a 1-1 score in normal play of 80 minutes.

Simon Wanyama scored for the East African reigning champions, while Isaac Kafuuma equalized for Masaka SS to set up the penalty shootouts. In the first Quarterfinal, Kyadondo stopped the defending champions Buddo SS with a 1-0 win.

The semifinals for the championship that commenced on May 11 will take place on Tuesday, May 18 with St Mary’s Kitende taking on Amus College, while Kyadondo SS will take on Bukedea Comprehensive.

At this year’s Semifinals, three teams, Bukedea Comprehensive, Amus College, and Kyadondo SS who qualified for the first FEASSA games, are searching for their first Nationals trophy, while Kitende holds the record for the most trophies, with 12.

With semifinalists continuing to chase the trophy, quarterfinal losers will undergo a classification match, which may present a chance to qualify for FEASSA games to the fifth team, since Uganda has the East Africa defending champions in Bukedea Comprehensive.

Semifinals

  • Kyadondo SS vs Bukedea Comprehensive
  • Amus College vs St Mary’s Kitende.
