Following their unsuccessful CAF Champions League run, Vipers SC have pointed their fungs to the Uganda Premier League.

Maroons FC is their next opponent tomorrow, hosted by Luzira Prisons grounds.

The game is however expected to be fiercely contested, as Maroons haven’t lost a single League game in their previous five.

They’ve won thrice including a 1-1 draw against title contenders KCCA FC in their last outing.

Vipers’ captain Milton Karisa, on his return from injury, has underlined the team’s need to pick all points as they seek to salvage something from the season.

“I am so happy to be fully back after the injury I sustained and the entire focus is on tomorrow’s game,” he said to the club media.

Vipers currently lie fourth on the table with 28 points, 12 behind leaders SC Villa who have played five games more.

“We are going to do everything we can, give in an absolute effort to see that we win the game,” Karisa added in buoyancy.

Maroons, on the other hand, lie eighth with 26 points in 19 matches.

In the first round at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, the hosts were 3-0 winners, courtesy of a Karisa strike and a brace from Yunus Sentamu.

Dating back to the 2015/16 campaign, Vipers hasn’t lost to the Prison Warders, and have won seven out of nine meetings.
